On ModuleOne's 1.5 kWh capacity

"But why 1.5 kWh capacity?" We get this question a lot. Because it makes our solution accessible to more people, for starters. But there's so much more to know.

⚡️1.5 kWh covers about a third of a small Belgian family's electricity usage, so it is not just a random number.

⚡️ We want as many households as possible being able to partake in the energy transition, so affordability is key.

⚡️ There are already plenty of big home batteries, but no small units

⚡️ Our solution may be smaller, but caters for very specific markets:

               ⚡︎ renters

               ⚡︎ people in apartments

               ⚡︎ households without solar panels

⚡︎ households with plug and play solar panels, aka balcony solar

Renters

Renters because cannot install a fixed battery system requiring modification to the existing wiring without permission of their landlord. On top, they'd lose their investment when moving out. Our plug and play battery is portable, so goes wherever you move to.

People in apartments

People in apartments face similar problems: they need permission from the other owners in their block to modify the existing wiring or grid. And then there is the issue of room: classic batteries are chunky and well, not exactly elegant. Our plug-in battery is a beauty, boasting crowned design. Most apartments cannot install solar panels either, unless limited balcony solar.

No solar panels

That brings us to households without solar panels: apartment dwellers often face this issue, but unfavourable orientation in houses can play a role, too. The lack of government incentives and awareness can also have an adverse effect on solar implementation. Some countries score very well, others seem to be unaware of the solar revolution of the last two decades.

Plug and play solar or balcony solar

Finally, our solution goes hand in hand with plug and play solar panels. Their sales numbers are skyrocketing. People - even those with limited means or no proper roof - want to counter high energy prices and plug-in balcony solar is a nice entry product, accessible for most households. As their output is limited, our plug-and-play battery is the perfect match.

Accessbible for all

We wanted a plug and play battery solution, an entry product that makes the energy transition - and its benefits - accessible to the masses. We wanted to include those households typically left out. With ModuleOne, we've done just that.
